Peru Travel Mart 2017 is planning to sell tourism offering over S/145 million soles to international operators

• The main Business Round of the tourism industry will be held in Lima on May 5-8.
• Freddy Gamarra, CANATUR President, announced that the Kuelap Fortress located in Amazonas, will be included in the tourist destination.


Lima, January 2, 2017.- Peru Travel Mart –PTM 2017’s Business Round is planning to generate sales commitments for S/145 million 200 thousand Soles, this is 10% more than that achieved in 2016, as was estimated by the NATIONAL CHAMBER OF TOURISM (CANATUR).
Peru Travel Mart – PTM is the main business market at local level for purchasing and selling tourist packages of Peru as a destination, which is organized by Canatur and Promperu for incentivizing inbound tourism.  The XXVI Edition corresponding to 2017 will be held in Lima on May 5th to May 8th.
Freddy Gamarra, President of the National Chamber of Tourism, announced that currently tour operators and wholesalers from potential tourists issuing countries such as Germany, Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Ecuador, India, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, Singapore, Ukraine, Uruguay and the United States, have committed their attendance. “We are working toward adding other markets and increasing buyers’ participation in a scenario of great expectations for tourism development”, he declared.
He stated that Peru Travel Mart will allow to consolidate Peru’s tourist destination in markets such as Chile and the United States that are the main issuers of international tourists, and to optimize other strategic markets such as Mexico and Brazil.
He also forwarded that the Kuelap Fortress, located in the Amazonas Region, will also be included this time in the tourism offering, considering the next inauguration and operation of the first cable-car system, which will simplify the access of tourists to the area in a shorter time and in a safer way.
Strategic Summit
In Peru Travel Mart, tour operators and wholesalers from several issuing markets of priority tourists for our country participate as buyers. Likewise, as supplier, several tour operators, hotels, airlines, cruises, restaurants, land transfer companies, trains and other enterprises for Peru´s tourist promotion will be present.
The presence of managers and senior executives representing tourist services companies will enable a better decision-making in sales and turns Peru Travel Mart into a unique opportunity for generating businesses.
Besides the business rounds, mini meetings have been programmed which will allow to consolidate trading and negotiations and to increase the number of contacts; also training and promotional seminars on Peru’s touristic products such as Cultural Tourism, Gastronomic Tourism, Ecotourism, Adventure Tourism, Incentives, Experiential Tourism, Cruises, Congresses and Events, and others have been foreseen.
